Letter From the Editor

Happy 2012!!! I hope everyone had a great holiday season and that the new year is off to a very Glossy start for all. That said, welcome to the Jan/Feb issue of GlossMagazineOnline (GMO). As I said in my last letter, thank you all for continuing on this journey with the GMO staff. We are working to bring you the stories you care about, while continuing to focus on "up-and-coming" talent –– both in who we cover and who does the covering. Again, thank you.

We have another great issue for you. Check out the interview with basketball wife Jackie Christie –– what she has to say may surprise you. Also, meet the Bell of Brooklyn, Ms. Demetria Lucas and get to know the up-and-coming star of Tyler Perry's "For Better Or Worse," Kent Faulcon.

We've got interviews with authors you know and love, as well as those you'll get to know and love; a look at how dating has changed (to text or not to text?); interviews with gospel artists Pro and Flame; R&B star Charlie Vox; spotlights on fashion and more.

As always, I could take up this whole letter telling you what fab stories fill our glossy pages, but I think it’s a bit more effective if you just take my word for it and go see for yourself. Go browse YOUR online magazine now. Go ahead – I’ll wait.

You back? So, tell us what you think! Comment directly at the bottom the articles and get the conversation started on Twitter and Facebook. However, to do that you must like our GlossMagazineOnline Fanpage on Facebook and follow us on Twitter @GlossMagOnline.

Last but definitely not least, if you are in the Chicago area on January 27, around 6 pm, I'd LOVE to see you at our "Salute to Black Media Soiree" at Society Art Gallery. We have a fantastic panel lined up (Margena Christian– Editor, Ebony Magazine, Kathy Chaney- Managing Editor, Chicago Defender, Leila Noelliste- Founder/Creator, Black Girl with Long Hair and Wendell Hutson- Reporter, The Crusader) followed by networking with some of Chicago's media, fashion and music elite. There will be music, giveaways from our sponsors, and more. Will you be there?
