Nichelle Ranson is primarily a real estate broker but with her new venture she’s adding business owner and entrepreneur to her title.

“I’m very driven, goal oriented, over-analytical (and) meticulous. Even when I dress. That’s why I figured I’m a good person to look toward for fashion,” says the 33-year-old Chicago native. “I like things to be right and for them to look good.”

Having an eye for fashion, an extensive background in retail and having studied fashion management, Nichelle had always wanted to establish an online boutique. After an opportunity presented itself fairly recently, überLUXE boutique and its Chicago showroom was born.

She describes überLUXE, meaning above luxurious, as exciting, over the top, sophisticated, and fabulous.

As a working mom continuously on the move, Nichelle knows the importance of having a wardrobe of good looking yet affordable pieces that can be worn day to night and year round. She wants überLUXE to reflect just that.

“What I decided to do was find many different apparel pieces that can work well with different looks; so, a lot of the clothing that I have in the boutique are based off of transitional merchandise,” she says. “Whether it’s going from day to evening, work to happy hour, or whether it’s going from winter to spring, it’s transitional in all those aspects.”

ÜberLUXE has something for every woman; trendy pieces as well as classic contemporary pieces. She says there’s a “modern look of sophistication” to every piece.

Merchandise which include tops, dresses, belts, etc. range from $22 to $98. ÜberLUXE also has high-end designer merchandise for consignment.

She thought about women like herself; who have designer pieces that haven’t been worn often and are looking for new statement pieces that are not über expensive. The condition of items as well as other factors are considered when pricing items but people who donate for consignment receive a percentage of the sale, says Nichelle. She adds that if they have a specific dollar amount in mind they usually receive that dollar amount when their item sells.

As of now, the designers featured for consignment are Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Fendi, Christian Louboutin, Giuseppe, and Nine West.

Consignment pieces which are also transitional, are priced higher on the spectrum at $75 to $600.

Even though she hosted a preview party and introduction of überLUXE just a few months ago (December 2012), Nichelle’s already planning for an Atlanta storefront. Ideally, she hopes to have 2-3 storefronts and eventually a t-shirt line.

Right now she’s working on überLUXE’s virtual boutique which is expected to be open soon. Until then, Nichelle can be contacted for inquiries at:
